RUNNING TO THE RESTAURANT

Every now and then the BBC Jobs website includes details of an upcoming programme. Not too long ago a vacancy for a researcher for The One Show revealed that it would be running 50 weeks a year when it returns. The latest is a position for a "'Location Runner" on something called ...
"BBC2's The Restaurant, which will air in 2007, features nine couples whose dream is to run their own restaurant. The task is to create their perfect restaurant and then open the doors to the paying public. Every decision, mistake and argument will be filmed as they work and live together 24-hours-a-day, under severe pressure.

Each week, one restaurant is eliminated from the competition by Raymond Blanc, who acts as judge. At the end of the run, the winners get to run their own restaurant, backed by Blanc to the tune of a six-figure sum."
So that's Big Brother marinated in The Apprentice then stir fried with Masterchef Goes Large sprinkled liberally with Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares potentially adding just a dash of mixed property programmes. It sounds exciting but what happens to The Restaurants that are opened to the public then voted off? Do they stay open?

and the jamie oliver gastro pub charity one.

We had this in Australia as "My Restaurant Rules", with a restaurant opening in each of the major capital cities. And yes, when the restaurant gets voted out, they close the doors... usually the day before you planned to go there.

These are the details we had in October:

I know who are the finalists of the game "the restaurant". I saw the shooting this weekend in France.
Do you want to know ?

The finalists are 3 blond and nice girls and one guy !!!
There are no suspense anymore...

The Restaurant is a fantastic show, I absolutely love it!

Also, what’s strange is that I discovered the twins (Laura & Jessica) from Green and Brown’s restaurant on this promotional staff website, http://www.freshagents.co.uk/Promo/List.aspx?nav=42&type=3&gender=2

So perhaps they can come and cook in our family kitchen when they win!

Si

this has got extremely boring now.I would have liked to see some cooking .The trouble is the contestants are a yawn.Bring bacl the american actress,at least she had a bit of glamour

Cant agree more.Do like emma ,at least is a bit real.Saw Sam and Jacky on BBC3.Sam is a great drummer ,crap restauranter.TWINS ARE REAL BLAND.Ghana food? I didnt think they had anything to offer except peanuts.raymond is not a presenter is he?Hope whoever wins can put up with his feigned credibility

I thought the contestants werent supposed to be chefs. Why are some of them cooks and some are not. Dont get that. Was it supposed to be a level playing ground. Agree ,i liked the american actress the best. She had loads of Zest and I think she would be a great Ruby Wax.

Yeah, beauty , intelligence and nievety.Unusual to see Americans on the television in British made entertainmenmt.

Long time since we have had some exciting television. I would have loved to be one of the contestants. What a fantastic opportunity.Best cook so far,Martin ,best front of house,Jacky.

for bums on seats you cant rely on friends of friends for ever to keep your eatery going in the future !
